Advent and Christmas 2022

We are now celebrating the season of Advent. As a church, we use this time to come together to prepare ourselves for the birth of Jesus Christ and to ready our hearts and homes for all He will bring us. As a community, we have numerous events that we hope you will participate in! 
 
 
Find Mary and Joseph: Thursday, December 1st-Wednesday, December 20th
Mary and Joseph will soon begin their journey to Bethlehem. Each day, starting December 1st, Mary and Joseph will be placed somewhere throughout the school campus. If you spot them, bring them to the Campus Ministry Office for a prize.
 
CSJ Toy Drive - Thursday, December 1st - Tuesday, December 13th
 
CSJ Leaders will be holding a toy drive from the 1st to the 13th. Toys should be brought in for both boys and girls ages 5-12. Members of CSJ Leaders will go around to each homeroom every day to collect the toys and put them in front of the Christmas tree. Please let your homeroom know that toys should be unwrapped.
 
Christmas Tree Lighting - Monday, December 5th 
Our annual Christmas Tree lighting will be taking place on Monday, December 5th. Please join us in the courtyard at 2:45pm to celebrate this special event. Hot Chocolate and cookies will be served after. 
 
Christmas Karaoke - Monday, December 5th
Immediately after the Christmas Tree lighting, Student Council will be hosting Christmas Karaoke in the Cafeteria until 4pm. Sign up will take place the week of November 28th via a Google Form. 
 
Deck the Doors- Monday, December 5th - Monday December 19th
Student Council will be sponsoring a Deck the Doors competition during the month of December. A sign up sheet will be sent out on Monday, December 5th for homerooms to sign up for a specific Christmas Carol theme. The door should represent/be themed around that carol. All homerooms will be given paper and have access to paint and other art supplies to complete their doors.  The doors will be judged on Monday, December 19th and the winner will be announced on Wednesday, December 21st.

Fair Trade Bazaar- Wednesday, December 7th
The Service Learning and Leadership program is hosting the Annual Fair Trade Bazaar during Report Card Night.  Come shop for your friends and families and support communities around the world. 

Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception Mass- Wednesday, December 7th
Mass will be held in our chapel (2nd floor wing) at 4:30 for those who wish to attend

SLL Candy-Gram Sale: Monday, December 12th - Friday, December 16th
Throughout the week of December 12th, members of the SLL Program will sell candy-cane grams to benefit the Xavier Mission’s Hope and Healing Campaign. The money raised would benefit the Welcome Table which is run every Sunday. During lunch, students can purchase candy canes for $2 each, and write holiday messages to their friends and teachers. All candy canes will be delivered the following week during homeroom.
 
Christmas Pajama Day: Thursday, December 15th
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to dress in their favorite school-appropriate Christmas Pajamas
 
Christmas Cookie Decorating and Movie Night: Thursday, December 15th
Student Council will be hosting Christmas Cookie Decorating and an afternoon at the Movies. Tickets are $10.00 and will be sold during lunch periods from December 6th - December 12th. Christmas Cookie decorating will be available before the movie and we will also be writing Christmas Cards to the Sisters living at the Mother House in Brentwood. Students will vote on the movie during lunch periods from December 6th to 9th. The movie options are

Ugly Christmas Sweater Day: Friday, December 16th
Come to school in your best Ugly Christmas Sweater with your uniform pants or skirt. Students, faculty, and staff will be able to submit a picture of themselves, and then voting for the best ugly sweater will take place on Google Forms. The top 5 sweaters from that poll will be featured on the TMLA Student Council Instagram where the final round of voting will take place. Winners will receive a prize! 
 
Christmas Concert: Friday, December 16th - Saturday, December 17th
Join us for our Annual Christmas Concert presented by the TMLA Glee and Orchestra. Both performances start at 7pm. Make sure to get your tickets!
 
Advent/Christmas Liturgy: Tuesday, December 20th
 
Christmas Party: Wednesday, December 21, 2022
