Cultural Harmony Week Interfaith Prayer Service

Cultural Harmony Week is a special time at TMLA. Each year we spend time celebrating our community's diversity and educating one another on the varied traditions, food, music, and so much more. At The Mary Louis Academy, our diversity is derived from more than 100 countries.

We began Cultural Harmony Week with an interfaith prayer service, where we prayed for peace and harmony in our world. We were reminded of the rich diversity that makes up our community. Maya Angelou once said, "In diversity there is beauty and there is strength." One of our greatest strengths—that which makes us beautiful—is our varied cultural and spiritual backgrounds. While Mary Louis is, of course, rooted in Catholicism, amongst us lies a congregation of 11 different faiths, which are observed in churches, temples, synagogues, and mosques.

Whatever our beliefs, whatever our traditions, whatever our faith, we make up one home rooted in Unity, Reconciliation, All-Inclusive love, and concern for the dear neighbor.
