About Miss Angiolillo

Livia AngiollloAs she embarks on her tenure as the inaugural President of The Mary Louis Academy, Miss Angiolillo brings a distinguished record of leadership, scholarship, and visionary practice. Her boundless enthusiasm, unwavering energy, and commitment to the mission of TMLA resonate deeply as she endeavors to provide young women with an excellent educational experience and all they need to make a positive difference in the world.

With a recognized career in education, Miss Angiolillo most recently served as the Managing Director at Bold Charter Schools. She was responsible for the leadership of all school administrators, junior leaders, and instructional staff, as well as two campuses with 500+ students. She was previously the Principal at Brooklyn Ascend Charter High School, and before that, she was Co-Founder and School Leader at Uncommon Collegiate Charter High School, where she achieved 100% graduation rates, with students matriculating to four-year colleges.

Miss Angiolillo’s leadership style is marked by her strong belief in service, compassion, and growth for the school community. She focuses first and foremost on student outcomes, which is her core principle. She employs data-driven decision-making and exercises the “Launch, Explore, and Discuss” model to encourage critical and independent thinking as well as to improve articulation skills.

Inspired by St. Madeleine Sophie Barat, Miss Angiolillo believes every student can be successful and that education can “rebuild the fractured world.” A proud graduate of The Convent of Sacred Heart in Greenwich, CT, Livia believes that her all-girls high school education developed her skills as a reader, writer, and thinker, and served her throughout her personal and professional journey. She is anxious to bring that gift to others.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Fine Arts from Amherst College, a Master of Education and Master of Arts with a focus in Organization and Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Juris Doctorate from Columbia University School of Law. “Miss Angiolillo is the right candidate to serve as the first president of TMLA at this significant moment in our history. Her vision inspired the search committee and impressed the school community. Her proven ability to inspire students, along with her experience with academics, enrollment, marketing and development, and finances, positions her well for this important new role,” said Maureen Henry, Chair, TMLA Board of Trustees.

Livia says she is honored to be the first President of TMLA. She is excited to guide current and future students as they learn to lead in faith and love. “I will ensure that students are prepared to exemplify TMLA's three core tenets of unity, reconciliation, and all-inclusive love at the highest levels in college and beyond. The opportunity to lead TMLA students, faculty, staff, alumnae, and families is the opportunity of a lifetime, and I cannot wait to join Hilltopper Nation!”

Livia is a proud New Yorker, having lived on the Upper West Side for 20 years. She enjoys spending as much time on the Hudson River as possible with her dog, Samuel, and exploring New York City parks. She also loves to read, cook, and craft, so she is often found with an open book, a crochet hook, or a paintbrush while waiting for the cooking timer to go off!
