TMLA Visits Columbia U. Engineering

TMLA’s physics students, robotics team members and the team’s moderators Mrs. Chukhareva and Mr. Aguanno visited Columbia University’s esteemed Fu Foundation for Engineering Sciences. Our group toured the Plasma Physics Lab where a professor who was a MacArthur Genius Award recipient discussed the use of plasma as an alternative energy source for future power plants to generate. After lunch, we met with Dr. Melissa Begg, Mary Louis alumna, a Professor of Biostatistics at CUMC and Vice Provost for Educational Programs at Columbia. Our day ended with a tour of the campus.
