TMLA Junior Commits to Duquesne University
Congratulations to TMLA Junior Orla Egan for committing to swim for Duquesne University! Orla, who was selected as an All-American, will sign her National Letter of Intent as a Senior at TMLA. Great job, Orla!
Orla received the All-American award in swimming when she got 4th place in the 500 yard freestyle in the New York State Championship meet. The award is given to the top 100 high school swimmers in the country based on their time. Orla placed 66th in the country for this event.
During the high school swimming season Orla swims for TMLA; the rest of the year she trains with her club team. A combination of these practices from both teams helps her achieve her goals. A talented distance freestyler, Orla is a six-time New York Federation Championship finalist and a two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American.
Orla chose Duquesne University because she loves the team, their dynamics and the way each swimmer on the team feels as if she were part of a family. Orla’s top goal for swimming at Duquesne University is to qualify for the NCAA Division 1 Championships.[Go Back]
