TMLA Athletics Team Updates
BADMINTON – The Varsity Badminton Team completed their season with a record high 11 wins, 3 losses. The team advanced to the Championship game against St. John the Baptist and finished in 2nd place. This is the best record the team has ever earned in the history of TMLA Badminton. In addition to a successful season, individual awards were given to multiple players. The following students had the best overall record in the league in their respective positions: Second doubles: Rena Cheng and Maharani Anigacz; Third doubles: Kayla Caputo and Chloe Heinz; Fourth doubles: Claire Casey and Chloe Riche.
SOFTBALL – Both JV and Varsity Softball Teams have advanced to the playoffs. Be sure to check here and our TMLA Athletics Instagram for updates on how our teams do throughout the playoffs!
VARSITY LACROSSE – The Varsity Lacrosse team began their season with a 7-0 win over Moore Catholic. The team advanced to the Semi-Final game and then with goals scored by Kelly Erhard, Diane Erhard, Margaret Donlevy, Mary Youngberg, Eva Powers, and Audrey Koenig, the team advanced to the Championship game against Cardinal Spellman. JV LACROSSE – This is the inaugural season for JV Lacrosse here at TMLA. This year, the team played against highly competitive programs at St. Joseph by the Sea (Staten Island), Kennedy Catholic (Somers) and Xaverian (Brooklyn).
BASKETBALL – The Varsity Basketball Team competed at the CHSAA Basketball Tournament held at Island Garden. The regular season games were restricted by NYC Department of Health guidelines.
VOLLEYBALL – Due to restrictions from the NYC Department of Health, we were unable to hold a traditional volleyball season. Instead the team played in various tournaments that included the CHSAA Senior Classic, where each senior was recognized for her dedication to the sport, as well as a Round Robin tournament for the Varsity team.
ATHLETIC AWARDS –This year Athletic Awards Night will be a little different. This year we celebrate academic achievements of all our Student- Athletes, the 4 year careers of our seniors, and the first graduating class from our Sports Medicine Department, one of the significant Diploma Designation programs.[Go Back]
