TMLA at STEM Symposium
TMLA Hellenic Society and selected students attended the Community and Technology STEM Symposium, sponsored by Philo4thought (the Hellenic Mentoring Initiative), on May 31, 2019.
At this symposium Elizabeth Goberdhan, TMLA Sophomore, was one of the recipients of the 2019 Official Triple C Award along with a special scholarship offered by Philo4thought’s Executive Board, which was made possible through the kind contributions of the Ouranitsas, Rizopoulos, and Velivasakis families, presented by and in Collaboration with NYS Attorney General’s Office and Philo4thought. This certificate of merit is given to a student who displays a remarkable level of Character, Courage and Commitment in her personal growth and outreach to become an active member of the community.
TMLA students were greeted by Ms. Chris Salboudis, TMLA alumna, who is the CEO and Founder of the Philo4thought Organization, symposium sponsor. The theme for this year’s symposium was “Use available and developing tech to create more robust educational opportunities for students and young professionals in our global network.”
At the symposium the students met dignitaries, the Consulate General of Greece, Dr. Konstantinos Koutras, and all of the panel speakers.
