Diploma Requirements


The Course of Study at The Mary Louis Academy is geared toward students achieving a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation, New York State’s highest standard.

Students may choose academic pathways that provide a vital experience in preparing them for college and the professional world.  Students who pursue prescribed courses and fulfill specified requirements in special areas may earn a Diploma with a Special Designation in Advanced Art, Pre-Medicine, Sports Medicine, STEM. International Studies, and Leadershp and Service.

The Mary Louis Academy requires each student to earn 26.50 credits, four of which are in Religious Studies. Requirements for Mary Louis diploma include the following:

English 4 Credits
Social Studies 4 Credits
Mathematics 4 Credits
Science 4 Credits
Language Other Than English 3 Credits
Fine Arts 1 Credit (Students who choose a concentration in Art will have their schedule arranged to accommodate the needed courses.)
Health .50 Credit
Physical Education 2 Credits
Plus a sufficient number of elective courses to bring the sum of credits to a minimum of 26.5 Credits
