Hilltoppers at Today Show’s “International Day of the Girl”

TMLA Hilltoppers were in the live audience for the Today Show on Oct. 11 to help celebrate the International Day of the Girl.  During the show, our Hilltoppers were able to learn more about the lives of young women who have fled to the United States from Afghanistan and the freedoms they get to enjoy in this country.

Olivia Zino (‘22) and Adrionna DaGuillard (‘23) were both interviewed by Craig Melvin about the importance of being at Rockefeller Plaza to celebrate International Day of the Girl.

Olivia said: “It is amazing, being at The Mary Louis Academy, I am surrounded by so many amazing young girls every day…to be here and to listen to these stories will be a day I will never forget!”

Adrionna, who was celebrating her birthday, asked Craig Melvin to sing Happy Birthday to her (which he did!).

They were proud to have been invited to be a part of such an awesome experience.

Thanks to NBC and to the @todayshow for giving us the opportunity to be a part of this celebration!
