Rooted in the Catholic tradition, TMLA encourages each student to develop and nurture her own spiritual identity while respecting those of others.   Central is recognizing God’s animating Spirit within us and in our evolving universe.

The Religious Studies curriculum includes a study of Prayer and Spirituality –  myriad forms, expressions and theology.  This course enables a student to reflect on what it means to be human and on her relationship to self, God and others.

In accord with Catholic tradition, the Religious Studies curriculum awakens students to the call for social justice and invites them to pursue a deeper understanding of various religious traditions, scripture, and moral/ethical questions.

Liturgy is celebrated daily in the Chapel at 7:35 a.m. for any student and faculty who wish to attend.  The entire school also assembles to celebrate special occasions during the school year – the Opening of School Year, Advent/Christmas, St. Joseph Day, and Graduation Liturgy.

TMLA provides a one-day retreat for all students during the course of the year. All retreats are held at The Sisters of St. Joseph Motherhouse in Brentwood, New York.
