Athletics
Welcome to Hilltopper Nation!
The Mary Louis Academy proudly supports one of New York City’s most extensive all-girls athletic programs, featuring 29 teams that make up the largest program of its kind.
Our athletics department is led by a passionate coaching staff dedicated to fostering student growth on and off the field, and TMLA is home to numerous individual and team champions at the conference, city, and state levels. Nearly one-half of our student body participates in competitive teams, highlighting the vital role athletics play in school life.
TMLA provides a full-time Sports Medicine team—the only dedicated sports medical staff exclusively serving high school female athletes in the region. Our Certified Athletic Trainer offers comprehensive care, including concussion baseline testing, injury evaluation, and advanced rehabilitation, ensuring our student-athletes remain healthy, safe, and prepared to perform at their best. Our sports medicine team collaborates closely with the School Nurse to provide consistency and high-quality care tailored to our athletes’ unique needs.
Additionally, for students interested in pursuing careers in health and sports, we offer a multi-year track toward a Sports Medicine Diploma Designation. Motivated students gain hands-on experience working with our Sports Medicine staff after school and during athletic events, preparing them for future careers in fields like Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, and Orthopedics.
TMLA Athletics also plays a central role in uniting our community. Competing within the Catholic High School Athletic Association’s Brooklyn/Queens and Nassau/Suffolk dioceses, our teams represent the values and spirit of TMLA, creating bonds that unite students, faculty, staff, and alumni through shared pride and support.
