Student Services

Services offered by the Student Services Department include personal counseling, individual interviews, academic and college counseling. From the first day of high school through graduation, the Student Services Department is laser focused on the whole TMLA girl.

Standardized and special testing are arranged to provide the students with a better understanding of their abilities and to provide them, their parents/guardians and counselors with the aid needed for their education and advancement.

The Students Services Department academic counselors focus on academic course advisement, academic supports (e.g., peer tutoring, teacher scaffolds, external supports), College Board exams (e.g., PSAT, SAT, AP), IEP/504 compliance and school-based implementation, and academic skill building.

In addition, the Students Services Department includes a clinical psychologist and a licensed mental health counselor. Both provide mandated counseling as well as informal check-ins. They partner closely with the Dean of Students to ensure the social-emotional wellbeing of students and consult with academic counselors to guarantee students receive well-rounded support.

The college counseling team includes a college counselor who works one-on-one with every senior as she builds her college list, applies to schools, evaluates offers and packages, and most importantly chooses the right college or university. TMLA’s college counseling team works to ensure that students get “to and through” the best college possible. The college counselor collaborates with the manager of post-secondary readiness and the Aspire Program to ensure that high performing TMLA seniors have access to extraordinary college resources.
