Why Start at TMLA in Middle School?
An earlier start. A stronger foundation. A more confident future.
Choosing the right middle school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your daughter—and where she begins matters.
At The Mary Louis Academy Middle School, students learn in an environment designed specifically for young women at a critical stage in their academic and personal development. With small class sizes, dedicated Catholic school educators, and a strong sense of community, each student is known, supported, and challenged to grow in confidence, skill, and faith.
Our program is intentionally designed to prepare students for success in high school and beyond. Through a rigorous curriculum that includes Regents-level coursework, students build the academic foundation and study habits needed to excel—while developing the independence and self-assurance that will set them apart.
Just as importantly, students are not preparing to become part of TMLA—they already are. As members of the Mary Louis community from day one, middle school students benefit from a seamless transition into the high school, eliminating the stress of the admissions process and allowing them to focus on what matters most: learning, growing, and thriving.
A Strong Academic Foundation for High School Success
Challenging, supportive, and designed to prepare students for what comes next.
Core Curriculum
Students engage in a comprehensive, standards-based curriculum that builds strong foundations in English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Instruction is designed to challenge students while providing the support they need to grow as confident, capable learners.
Advanced Coursework & Regents Preparation
TMLA Middle School students are prepared to excel beyond grade-level expectations. By the end of Grade 8, students complete up to three Regents exams—an uncommon achievement that reflects the strength and rigor of the program.
Skills for Success
Beyond academics, students develop essential skills such as organization, time management, critical thinking, and independent learning—ensuring they are fully prepared for high school and beyond.
In our small classes, teachers differentiate instruction to support each learner. Students are both challenged and supported, building confidence, independence, and the ability to succeed in a rigorous academic environment.
Supporting Every Student
TMLA is an inclusive learning environment, proud to have one of the Diocese’s few fully staffed Student Services Departments. We support students with IEPs and IESPs and partner closely with families to ensure each student receives the services she needs while thriving in a rigorous academic setting.
