Principal’s Welcome

Welcome to The Mary Louis Academy, sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, New York.  We are a Catholic college preparatory high school for young women founded in 1936.

We provide outstanding academic, athletic and extra-curricular opportunities for our students, couched in the CSJ mission of unity, reconciliation, inclusive love, concern for the dear neighbor, and a reverence for the environment.

Our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to the success of each student resulting in 99% of the Class of 2018 graduating with an Advanced Regents diploma. We offer 17 AP courses and honors courses in each department and on every level, and diploma designations in STEM, Pre-Med, Art and Sports Medicine.  Our student service to the community is evident through our Service Learning and Leadership program as well as our volunteerism in and out of the school building.

We are proud of our scholar athletes who, every year, achieve individual and team success, bringing home conference, city and state championships.

It is an honor and privilege to serve as Principal of my alma mater. I look forward to working with our new administrative team of Mrs. Jean Mauro, Assistant Principal of Academics and Mr. Joseph Lewinger, Assistant Principal of Student Life. We believe in The Mary Louis Academy, in the extraordinary work we do encouraging each young woman to find her voice so that she may realize her potential to be a leader in promoting a just society.

Alumnae are always welcome back; we love to hear from you and of your successes; just give us a call or email us at

Prospective students are welcome to visit us for a buddy day, email so we can show you all TMLA has to offer.

Here’s to a great year!

Best regards,

Mrs. Ann O’Hagan-Cordes ’84 P’11
