Livia Angiolillo
President
Livia Angiolillo serves as the inaugural President of The Mary Louis Academy, leading the school's institutional strategy and advancing its mission to prepare young women to lead lives of excellence, service, and purpose.
An experienced New York City school leader, Ms. Angiolillo previously served as Managing Director at Bold Charter Schools, where she led school administrators, instructional leaders, and faculty across two campuses serving more than 500 students. Earlier in her career, she served as Principal of Brooklyn Ascend Charter High School and as Co-Founder and School Leader of Uncommon Collegiate Charter High School, where students achieved a 100% graduation rate and matriculated to four-year colleges.
A graduate of the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, Connecticut, Ms. Angiolillo credits her own all-girls education with helping to develop her confidence and abilities as a reader, writer, and thinker—an experience that informs her commitment to expanding opportunities for the young women of TMLA.
Ms. Angiolillo holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Fine Arts from Amherst College; a Master of Education and Master of Arts in Organization and Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University; and a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School. As President, she works in partnership with TMLA's leadership, faculty, staff, Board of Trustees, alumnae, and families to steward the school's mission and strengthen TMLA for generations to come.
Jean Mauro
Principal
Jean Mauro serves as Principal of The Mary Louis Academy, providing academic and instructional leadership and supporting the growth and success of students across the school community.
Mrs. Mauro has dedicated the majority of her career to educating young women in schools sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph. She joined TMLA in 2018 as Assistant Principal for Academics, serving in that role for seven years before becoming Principal in 2025.
Prior to TMLA, Mrs. Mauro spent more than a decade at Stella Maris High School in Rockaway Park, where she served as a teacher and Chairperson of the Department of Business and Consumer Studies, as well as Student Council Moderator and Summer School Principal. She later continued her work in CSJ-sponsored education at Bishop Kearney High School in Brooklyn, serving in several academic and administrative roles.
Mrs. Mauro earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Education from Baruch College, a Master of Science in Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science in School Building Leadership from St. John's University. Her longstanding connection to CSJ-sponsored education and her years of academic leadership at TMLA inform her commitment to rigorous learning, student growth, and the mission and values of The Mary Louis Academy.
Board of Trustees
The Mary Louis Academy's Board of Trustees provides governance and stewardship in support of the school's mission and long-term strength. Working in partnership with school leadership, trustees help ensure that TMLA continues to serve generations of young women.
