Please keep a reader response
journal for each play. It is important to commit your ideas about
each of the plays into writing. Your writing forces you to clarify your
thinking, to examine details and elements of the play, and to develop your
creative interpretations for performance and evaluation. A critical essay for
each of the plays will include an objective observation and well as a subjective
analysis.
In addition, please attend one of the many free performances
offered to the public around New York City. save the playbill or program
and write some observations about the productions. For example, Central Park
hosts the Public theater's Shakespeare in the park, a free and excellent
event. Your grades will be major test grades for Trimester I.
