Gifts to The Mary Louis Academy benefit every single young woman who walks through her doors. Donations are invested in academic programs, maintenance and improvement of the Academy’s facilities, advanced professional development of the faculty, academic scholarship assistance and much, much more.
Gifts have been applied to specific building projects such as the completely refurbished auditorium. Other completed projects include restoring to their vintage glory the General Office, main foyer and staircase. The Chemistry and Physics laboratories have been completely remodeled to 21st century standards and expectations. There are many more such projects which you can help fund and name.
Every cent is used to continue The Mary Louis Academy tradition of excellence. Our challenge remains to continue TMLA’s superior academic programs while maintaining affordable tuition. The integrity of our mission, to provide the highest caliber of education to young women in an atmosphere of unity and inclusive love, remains our foremost priority.
This past summer TMLA took a giant step forward. The Biology Laboratory was completely remodeled so as to provide the most state of the art scientific education for our young women. The redesigned Biology Lab now allows our students to take new courses, such as AP Environmental Science, Sports Physiology, and Biomechanics, along with the currently required course of Biology/Living Environment and the current elective courses of Adanced Placement Biology, Anatomy & Physiology. The new Biology Lab will also now house long-awaited science research projects such as the Intel Competition (formerly known as The Westinghouse Competition) and the Siemens Competition.
In addition, TMLA’s two computer labs have been outfitted with more than 100 new desktop computers which include individual speaking, listening and recording capabilities that exceed the standards of the College Board for Advanced Placement courses in such areas as AP Music and AP Foreign Language. These interactive stations also allow Foreign Language students live, directed, supervised interaction with students from all over the world. Computers are also available in all resource centers, the library, science labs, art studios, faculty work areas and offices.
These are just a very few examples of TMLA’s exceedingly strong commitment to providing the best resources for our teachers and the highest level of education for our young women. Your contributions enable us to make these investments in the future of TMLA and the young women of today.
