Mary Louis 44, St. Dominic’s 25
Freshmen ruled in the Hilltoppers first swim meet of the year. Freshman Kylie Chow finished first in the both the 50 yard freestyle and 100 yard backstroke races. Frshman Monica Stefandl took first in the 100 yard freestyle race and Katie Donlevy palced first in both the 200 yard Individual Medley race and the 100 yard breaststroke race.
In addition, sophomore Georgia Goldman won the 200 yard freestyle race and Cristina Martello won the 100 yard freestyle race.

The Hilltoppers finished first in all events. Emma Miller, Ashley Tolento and Kylie Chow finished first second and third in the 100 backstroke. Tara Mulligan, Katie Donlevy and Anne Codd finished first, second and third in the 100 Breaststroke. Christine Codd swam the 500 freestyle for the first time and finished in a solid third place. Adrianna Martinez and Erika Winkler finished first in both of their events. Tara Mulligan also finished first in a close race for in the 50 Freestyle.

The swim team continues it’s success in the Nassau / Suffolk league. Erika Winkler and Monica Stefandl finished first and second in the 200 yard Freestyle. In the 100 yard backstroke race Kelly Mulligan and Georgia Goldman finished first and second. While in the 100 yard breaststroke race Katie Donlevy and Monica Stefandl placed first and second.

There were some good races in the Hilltoppers victory. Erika Winkler tied for first in the 500 freestyle and Adrianna Martinez had one of her best times and finished a close second in the 200 Individual Medley race. Tara Mulligan, Katie Donlevy and Monica Stefandl finished first, second, and third in the 100 yard breaststroke race. Julia Carey and Emma Collins had their best swims in some new events.

Once again, the freshmen excelled. Monica Stefandl finished first in both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke races. Kayla Kilgallen had a best time in the 200 Individual Medley with a third place finish and Amanda Engel also swam the 200 Individual Medley for the first time and finished in fourth place. Katie Donlevy, Christine Codd and Emma Collins swept the 200 Freestyle race with a first, second and third finish.

With a win over St. Francis Prep, the swim team remains undefeated! Tara Mulligan, Erika Winkler, Kelly Mulligan, and Adrianna Martinez all finished first in their events. Katie Donlevy, Kayla Kilgallen and Kylie Chow each had best times in the 200 Individual Medley and finished in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place.

In a close meet, the Hilltoppers were edged by Sacred Heart. Every Mary Louis swimmer had their personal best times.
Tara Mulligan qualified for the state championships in the 50 yard Freestyle race. Tara set a school record with a time of 24.83.

Christine Codd swam the 200 yard Individual Medley for the first time and finished in first place. Monica Stefandl finished in first place in the 500 Freestyle race. The 200 yard Medley Relay of Kylie Chow, Katie Donlevy, Amanda Engel and Monica Stefandl also finished in first place.

Even though the Hilltoppers lost to top ranked St. Anthony’s, they put in a great effort to end the season. In t the 200 yard Freestyle race, Erika Winkler had a personal best time of 1:58.98 and missed first place by fractions of a second. Tara Mulligan took first place in the 100 yard Breaststroke race and finished second in the 50 yard Freestyle race.

The Hilltoppers had their best performance ever in the League Championships, finishing third.
Tara Mulligan had a great day at the meet and was named Most Outstanding Athlete. She broke the league record in the 50 yard Freestyle race and also won the 100 yard Breaststroke race for the second year in a row. She qualified for the State Championship in both races.
In addition, the 200 yard Medley Relay team of Georgia Goldman, Kelly Mulligan, Adrianna Martinez and Tara Mulligan qualified for State Championship.
